My Upgraded Power Mac G4 Digital Audio

Posted by: Irinikus on 2024-06-23 12:02:40 A Tour and Demonstration of a Power Mac G4 Digital Audio, featuring a SONNET Encore 1.4GHz G4 CPU, 1.5GB of PC133 SDRAM and a Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition together with a Rage 128 PCI Graphics Card (Two Graphics Cards) in order to run OS 9.2.2 and OS X. (Both with acceleration!)

Posted by: Irinikus on 2024-06-23 12:40:13 Because the Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition isn't being adequately utilised by this CPU I do plan to swap this card out with an Nvidia 4600ti Mac Edition in the future and place the 9800 Pro into my QuickSilver. In this case I'll try fitting a 9200 LE (I'll have to purchase another one) in the place of the RAGE 128 to handle the OS 9 side of things, as the 9200 LE in my G3 runs OS 9 with acceleration, but when fitting the card into this machine together with the 9800 Pro, all I got when the desktop came up was a grey screen with a movable curser. (All of the extensions did seem to load properly though, including the ATI extension) So there may be a conflict between these two cards as they are similar in a way. The Nvidia 4600ti and the 9200 LE on the other hand are not, so I may be able to get it to work!
