Already pulled out the SE/30 and Color Classic II, but here's what's there now:

Uncertain as to their current condition (they were put in storage 8 years ago,) but there are:
Plus
SE 800k+hard drive
SE dual 1.4M
Classic
Classic II
What's already out of storage:
Macintosh (original, pre-"128" branding, but it has a 512k logic board in it.)
SE/30 (three of them, one sans logic board, one with dead logic board, and one fully functional,)
Color Classic (with Color Classic II logic board.)
| Posted by: joethezombie on 2016-08-21 08:26:18 Ah nice. Too bad they didn't get down and dirty while hiding under the stairs and reproduce. Wow, a Color Classic II logic board! Where'd you stumble on that guy?
| Posted by: ScutBoy on 2016-08-21 15:58:36 It took me a minute to figure out which way gravity was working in that photo 🙂
CCII is nice!
| Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2016-08-21 19:35:29 I scored the CC2 logic board off eBay long long ago, back when the "Mystic" upgrades were all the rage, so people were selling off their old logic boards.
The photo was "right side up" when I attached it! Apparently the forum doesn't respect rotation metadata.

My photos always get rotated sideways. | Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2016-08-22 09:20:27 Well, it was a slow night at work (I work overnight shift from home,) so I had time to dig out all my compact Macs, see what was in them, and test boot them all.
Sadly, eight years in storage wasn't kind...
Plus: Starts to boot, shows "50% gray" background, beeps, then shuts down and repeats. Never even gets far enough to read the floppy drive. I'm guessing analog board (power issues.)
SE 800k+hard drive: Holy crap is the SE Ethernet card ridiculously huge! This guy's dead - standard "simsaimac" errors. But hey, SE Ethernet card!
SE dual 1.4M: Dual "SuperDrive" SE, *PLUS* a hard drive! Boots just fine. Has System 7.0 and AppleShare Server 3 loaded. Well, this puppy DEFINITELY needs that Ethernet card... Loaded it up, loaded my Asante drivers + MacTCP, we're golden.
Classic: Dead. HARD dead. Won't even attempt to power up.
Classic II: Simsaimac.
So, out of the seven compact Macs I've gotten out of storage in the past week, only two work. (The SE SuperDrive and the Color Classic/2.)
So for working compact Macs, I now have:
Macintosh (pre-128 branding, with 512k logic board upgrade. I plug an HD20 in to it since it has the upgrade.)
Macintosh SE SuperDrive (dual 1.4M floppies plus 40 MB hard drive, 4 MB RAM, Ethernet card.)
Macintosh SE/30 (with Ethernet card, currently with 64 MB RAM.)
Macintosh Color Classic (with Color Classic II logic board, 20 MB RAM, Ethernet card.)
And, for grins, here's my SE/30 connecting to the SE's AppleShare server over Ethernet:

(Sadly, I can't get MacWeb 2.0 to load 68kmla, or I'd post from the SE.)
| Posted by: Anonymous Freak on 2016-08-23 22:56:55 Well, thanks to my latest conquest, I now have ANOTHER SE/30... When I'm on my lunch break, I'll have to set up all my working compacts in a row and get a photo. And I should probably get a photo of all my SE/30 chassis together, too. (2 working, 2 dead.)
