| SE/30 ROM Socket Question |

I found something suspicious in my ROM socket (see photo). the board chimes and boots fine but I get no video at all - total blackout. I've been going through potential issues in the video circuit. Is it possible that this is the cause? |

I think you may have gotten very lucky here. That appears to be pin 30, which is a ground. There are two other grounds on the connector, on pins 10 and 64. 30 and 64 are tied together, at least on the factory SIMM that I tested, so as long as pin 64 is good, you should be fine without pin 30. |

Yep its good now. Replaced the UE8 chip. |
