Timbuktu on GlobalTalk
Posted by: CTB on 2024-04-01 22:32:16
I am going to attempt to get Timbuktu working between my office and man cave. They are currently both on the GlobalTalk network. Has anyone had any experience with this?

What experience are you looking for? Timbuktu generally works rather well, the machine just can't be completely headless... If you're using it on a headless server, it needs to have a dummy plug of some sort hooked up to the video port. Generally a VGA adapter will do the trick.

I've been meaning to sign up for GlobalTalk. Would be fun to do some AppleTalk games.

I did use it back in the day and was hoping to find out what versions worked with what Mac OSs and if anyone has tried it via GlobalTalk. I couldn’t find anything so did the testing myself. I found that I could run Timbuktu Pro v3 quite stably on System 7.1 through to Mac OS 8.6. And it does run over GlobalTalk.
