| what's a good power supply replacement for a 475? |

i have a performa 475, which has been with me for a while. unfortunately the power supply blew up on me and i feel like recapping it would not really fix the main issue these have... which is just not being great power supplies. i'd like something that ideally would give me more power than 27W so i can use an SCA-80 drive without the computer making droning noises, and something that would just be way more efficient than the astec POS it came with from the factory. anyone have any ideas? maybe a 19v laptop power supply split to 12v, 5v, and 3.3v would work but then of course i'd need -5v... heard there are pico PSU replacements but i cannot seem to find those. |

I used the Mean Well RPT-60A in my LCII and it was a relatively easy swap for my TDK. I soldered the power switch/socket and motherboard harness directly to the board after removing the connectors. You could also probably find new connectors and put them on the wires, but I don't have the equipment for crimping so it was easiest to connect directly and insulate with some hot glue as needed. I trimmed and reused the existing plastic liner and hot glue to make sure it was in place; others have used 3D printed brackets to attach the supply.
I initially considered the Rabbit Hole ATX replacement with a PicoPSU but I didn't love that does not have a fuse onboard and would mean getting rid of the plug and switch on the back. Same goes for the DekoNukem universal ATX adapter. |

its TINY! i love it. definitely seems like the better option for these especially considering these pizza box macs don't take much power, and they don't use soft power. i'll definitely buy one. |

MW RPT-60 here as well, in a loaded out LC475 and OC‘d cpu to 33Mhz, all really good could not recommend better. |
