Looking for HyperCard AppleTalk Toolkit
Posted by: Tashtari on 2024-03-04 04:33:07
This page mentions the existence of something called the HyperCard AppleTalk Toolkit, apparently a set of XCMDs/XFCNs that allow the user to use AppleTalk ATP and NBP from HyperCard stacks. I'd love to get my hands on such a thing, but mentions of it anywhere else are scanty... does anyone know if this ever appeared on one of the various dev CDs or anything like that?

There are a few AppleTalk related stacks on Archive.org that might contain xcmds or xfcns you could fish out of the stacks?

I'll check my HyperCard related stuff folder when I get back to my desk. But I'm not too hopeful.

Yeah, I've looked there - no success, unfortunately. If this isn't nestled somewhere in one of the dev CDs or in someone's collection somewhere, I fear it's lost to time.

Not what you were looking for, but I found a MacTCP Toolkit for HyperCard :

@cheesestraws @Melkhior @Snial @halkyardo

Might be useful for rapid prototyping.

Ooooh, I'd heard of that - apparently someone wrote a whole Usenet reader in Hypercard with it! Hadn't actually come across a copy though; might be interesting to play with. Thanks!

Here ya go!

I found this on the the staticky site mirror on the Internet Archive. Search for "APDA_HyperCard_Toolkits" on https://ia800702.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/33/items/staticky.com/staticky.com.zip to see the other toolkits that were mentioned on the page you linked.
