MouseStick II Lubrication
Posted by: LaPorta on 2024-02-18 14:51:29
Hi everyone,

Thanks to the MouseStick II from @tashtari , I now have a second one to play Hellcats with my son on the machine that he and his sisters use. However, it also made me acutely aware that this one has some really, really good lubrication on it...I assume from the factory. My original MouseStick II (in use since the 90s), has a white film on it's joystick axis, and creaks and has way, way more resistance than this other. Cleaning it would get the residue off, but what is used to grease these things to begin with?

White lithium grease would be the likely product

Interestingly, the chalky film on the old one looks to be plastic residue that has probably collected. The new in box one has a clear lubricant on it instead of white.
