| Portable no backlit, video fades away |

Could you please help me to determine a problem with my original no backlit Macintosh Portable? It starts ok and displays a mouse, beginning to boot normally, but then the picture fades away. My machine was fully recaped and working well before this day. What should I check first? |

Could it be a screen panel itself? Computer seems to be working and booting correctly |

I've never seen a panel fail like that. I'd check that you have 5V and contrast voltages at the display after the failure occurs. Smells like latent cap damage. |

I've figured out the reason. The ribbon cable connection the display panel and motherboard seemed to be broken a bit. Hopefully, I'll try to restore it. |
