| PSU compatibility for my IIci question. |
Posted by: geokov on 2024-01-29 17:08:58 I would just like to confirm to be sure, can an ASTEC AA16870 PSU be used as a test PSU in my IIci?
Current IIci PSU ASTEC AA 15831 is not working.
Thanks 🙂 |

What's wrong with your AA15831? |

What's wrong with your AA15831? It wasn't working but I recapped it and it's working now. I wanted to test my IIci with a known working supply before I tried my recapped one. |
Posted by: joshc on 2024-01-29 19:47:15 You can use the IIcx one in the IIci yes. Same pinout. Just slightly different ratings on the 12V and -12V lines but not substantial enough to affect testing with it.
These power supplies tend to have a problem with the 5V trickle supply that is used as part of the soft power on these machines.
IIci logicboards also tend to have issues with the startup/shutdown circuit affected by leaking caps. |
