Seeking Daystar Turbo 601 software
Posted by: moving2 on 2024-01-27 19:04:27
I believe there is a system enabler and a control panel. The latest I've seen referenced are the following:
- Turbo 601 System Enabler v1.1.1
- Turbo 601 Control Control Panel v1.2.1

I've checked Macintosh Garden and a few other sites, but can only find the PowerPro software, not the Turbo 601 software. Any pointers or if someone that has the SW can drop a link, would be appreciated!

Did you check out the Daystar site? https://web.archive.org/web/19961102051236/http://daystar.com/Upgrades/RghtChc.html

Appreciate the info! After some checking, however, it appears the links to the drivers on this page point to the now-defunct Daystar FTP server:

The Daystar website itself is still up though, no need for archive.org or LEM.

Thanks Phipli, I looked at this site before and there were so many broken links I gave up. I'll update the links on my accelerator page to the page you found

Strangely, not all of the downloads on the DayStar site were archived on Macintosh Garden.

So I decided to download them all, and upload them to Macintosh Garden:

Welp, I accidentally bid on this listing on Yahoo Japan Auctions. I was so excited to see the great condition of the box, manuals and disks, I didn't notice at fist that the actual accelerator card wasn't included.

If I end up winning the auction, I'll be sure to upload any unique software to Macintosh Garden and might even scan the manuals.

Did anyone ever archive the Brinhoven site? May be wildly misremembering that name. There was a "The Unofficial Turbo 601 Page" and it was hosted there. Went down some time ago, but I hope someone archived the collected wisdom.

I recently picked up a Daystar Turbo 601 100MHz. I'm using it in a IIci.

The links on Macintosh Garden and the DayStar site are for "Disk Release 3" of the DayStar installer.

I've seen mention online there is a "Disk Release 4" with an updated control panel and system enabler.

Does anyone have an image (or physical disk they can image) of the Disk Release 4 installer?
