What is this upgrade card? (Pic)
Posted by: 9646gt on 2024-01-24 09:31:30
I just purchased an LCiii on eBay. The pics don't have a pic of the back I/O ports but I can see this card installed. It's the only image of it and the most important side can't be seen. Anyone know what it is? Hopefully something good and not just Ethernet although I wouldn't complain lol. Thanks y'all.

Appears to be a Farallon EtherMac LC based on the part number on the sticker (YPN592A-TP)

Thank you very much for that. I saw the sticker but am so used to seeing a silk screen part number somewhere on the card that I didn't figure that would actually be it haha. I'll do some research and see if it's worth using or if I should just resell it to buy some other upgrades

Just an Ethernet card, they’re not worth too much on their own as they’re not very uncommon really.

Ethernet is by far the most common - and probably most useful - thing to do with an LC PDS slot, tbh

As an LC III user, can confirm. I don't think there was anything else for LC PDS slots than ethernet and the iie card

There were also video cards, audio cards and some GPIO / electronics control cards and processor upgrades that I can think of.

Yeah, what @Phipli said. I've got a couple of PDS graphics cards, but they're not very good.
