Looking for the datasheet for a IIci UK14 RTC 344S0042 chip.

Hello,

I have been looking for the datasheet for an obsolete part, the UK14 RTC 344S0042 chip from my IIci. Lots of Googling but no luck at all.

Wow, only 8 pins on that 20-pin PLCC package are actually being used. Seems likely it could be replaced with one of these with a little creativity: https://github.com/pgreenland/attinyrtcmodule

Correct. These RTCs are basically identical save for the package and number of pins.

Yeah, weird. A SOIC8 package would have made more sense, unless they were planning forward compatibility for a chip that did this and more.

Just for archiving purposes, hereby the original datasheets for both Apple RTC IC's:
- 343S0042-A (PLCC20)
- 343-0042-B (DIP8)
1
