Apple IIc late Version?
Posted by: twconstantine on 2023-12-08 14:15:44
I got my first Apple IIc with a color monitor off eBay. It all came delivered just fine. I took it apart to clean and the inside is not what I’m expecting based on my limited knowledge of what should be in here. I’ve not seen a spray painted bottom interior before. There is no RF shield and the power supply has no metal box around it. The MB says 1986, so I assume this is a later model?

That is a "memory expansion" Apple IIc. Should have the Alps keyboard and a model number of A2S4100 on the bottom sticker.

Thank you!
It does have that model number. I’ll have to look up what that means.

That means it has a later ROM version and a slot for a memory expansion card so you can have up to a megabyte in AppleWorks.

The later ROM also supports SmartPort devices on the floppy port.
