I have a stock Color Classic with an external CD/DVD drive. I found a game called Zork on ebay. It is this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Zork-Anthology-and-Return-to-Zork-Mac-Macintosh-vintage-Complete-Apple-CD-/152177443446?hash=item236e7b8276:g:4WwAAOSwtnpXkolZ
If the above link is broken, it is ebay item number 152177443446
Can someone tell me if this game will run on my Color Classic?
Thanks
jack
| Posted by: Macdrone on 2016-07-24 13:45:59 no box says 25 mhz 030 which the color classic is 16 mhz. Also 640x480 resolution. So if you get the mystic upgrade and do the screen mod you could.

| Posted by: tanaquil on 2016-07-25 06:40:50 I don't know about Return to Zork (sounds like that one is off limits), but I think the Zork Anthology is just a collection of the old text adventures, which should run on any old Mac. You can test the theory by downloading a copy from Mac Garden before bidding on the ebay auction. Once you copy an individual Infocom game to the HD of an old mac, it will generally run on almost any hardware.
But, of course, the old text adventures are not color anything (they are fun though). I don't know much about color games that will run on the CC, so I look forward to other responses to the thread.
