| Macintosh 512K sad icon error codes? | |
| Posted by: macalle69 on 2016-07-21 13:51:45 Hello i have problems with this mother board , washed and tested make chime on start up but black screen and sad icon with jail bars and unreadable error codes . Tested roms on another motherboards and they are ok any suggestion? Bad ram? thank you for suggestions  | |
| Posted by: BadGoldEagle on 2016-07-21 14:49:05 I can't make out the code on your picture either... But it begins with 02 which surely indicates a memory chip failure. The Mac 512 (website) lists all different kinds of sad mac error codes. I think this one displays 02 8400 but I don't know what it means, never seen that one before. I believe it doesn't exist. As you said, it's pretty unreadable. I'd say bad RAM chip somewhere on that board though. | |

But yeah it surely is expensive for a non working 512k. You could get one of those in working condition for that price. I don't know where exactly you are located but check your local classifieds. I got really cheap deals on leboncoin (french alternative to Craigslist). ebay kleineizeigen or subito are good sites too. | |
