Only the Apple II series uses Cassettes. Steve Jobs the Mac removed from using cassettes starting with the 128K, and with the Lisa.

There are Tape Back Up systems for the Mac but they are not a standard cassette like those used in the 8bit world.

Ha! I need you guys to think... really.

in the 8Bit world, it took 10 minutes for an 8K program to load up. This is true for Commodore, Atari, Apple, Coleco Adam, Matell Aquarius, Radio Shack TRS 80 and Coco systems...

Now imagine a Mac 128K loading up its 32K System 3. How long would that take with these numbers? I'm figuring over a 1/2 hour or more to boot up a Mac through a "Cassette Port." For me I can go to the store, buy snacks, go to the Chinese Inn and get some Beef Lo Mien, go to the store again and buy the soda I forget, and when I get home it would still be loading!
