Tracing out a lost pad on a Centris / Quadra 610
Posted by: Generic_Sweetener on 2023-10-14 17:30:24 Long-time lurker here, I'm recapping a Centris 610 and managed to destroy what was left of the positive pad and corresponding annular ring on the via for C42. The via doesn't connect to anything on the back of the board, presumably it connects somewhere on an internal layer of the PCB. As far as I know there aren't any schematics for this machine, and I'm a bit out of my depth trying to figure out where it should be routed given that there isn't anything left behind to probe. Would anyone with an intact board be willing to take a look at where it should connect?

Would anyone with an intact board be willing to take a look at where it should connect? Previous owner of my 610 also killed the +ve pad on C42 (actually they removed both pads 🙁 ). You're in luck, the diode D2 right next to it is common, so you can bodge to it, or do something silly like this 🙂
