iBook G3 clamshell handle out of alignment
Posted by: -_- JC on 2023-09-22 08:02:58
Hello, I recently disassembled my iBook G3 clamshell to replace the Wi-Fi antennas and in doing so, I removed the handle which somehow threw it out of alignment. Now, instead of springing back to the closed position like it should, it springs out every time you push it to the closed position. Did I irreversibly damage something, or is this something I can fix?

Welcome JC,

I recall mine did the same years ago and I needed to remove the handle and twist back the spring tensioner inside the ends of the handle. But careful noting fragility of plastic etc.

I thought it was something like that. How do I do that?

I read the iBook repair manual on how to install the handle, but it's kinda confusing. Could you tell me how you did it?
