This allows me to insert the SD card at the back of the computer while having the BlueSCSI mounted in the HDD tray.

Here’s a link to the model if you’d like to print one. At the same time, I also created a plain version that is just a slot cover.
This works much better when printing with PETG and not PLA. PLA is brittle and the tabs will break off very easily. ABS would probably work well too, but I haven’t tried it.
I used calipers and a bit of eyeballing for the design process, so they’re not based on official specs, but they seem to stay in place just fine.
For the SD extension cable, I used a 48cm one that I found off eBay by searching for “sd card extension cable”. That seems to be about the right length. The ones that ship from China all seem to be the same generic model. Mine is actually a SD to microSD extension cable, but I figured that could be a more useful format if I ever switch between different HDD emulators that use different card sizes. The reader portion of the SD extension cable is 35mm wide by 12mm high with the slot in dead center. I used a bit of hot glue to mount the SD reader.
Let me know if you found this useful and if you have any feedback! | Posted by: eharmon on 2023-09-05 21:03:36 Very nice! | Posted by: HardwareHacker on 2025-07-04 11:58:08 Would this work with a Mac IIci? | Posted by: finkmac on 2025-07-04 12:01:09 same slots. so.... yes | Posted by: is2scooby on 2025-09-20 10:28:57
