Does anyone have a capacitor list for a 6500 LB?

per title.

It might be a bit premature but I'd rather get it over with and not worry about it.

Don't have it myself, but let me know if you find it somewhere and I'll get it up on my website.

(sorry for necro but this post is the first result on google)
I just recapped mine, made the list as I went. There is a lof of them, most of them are standard and you probably have them around if you do logic boards regularly, but there is one unusually large cap you might need to order. I didn't have one on hand so didn't replace that one yet.

12 x 47uF 16V
6 x 100uF 6.3V
1 x 100uF 25V
for a total of 19 caps.

I will also note that two of the caps showed early signs of leaking, so we should start considering 1997 machines as "probably in need of recapping now"

The +ve pads on C133-C134-C135 were a pain to get loose, I think maybe something with the edge connector was sucking all the heat out. An approach that worked for me was:
1. remove the cap in a manner of your own choosing (I twist, it's fine)
2. apply flux AND FRESH SOLDER to the leg/solder mix left on the pad
3. get that leg out! I didn't bother with wick, I just melted the whole thing and pushed the leg off the pad and tweezered it off once clear
4. add more flux and clean up the rest of the pad with wick, should be easier to scrub once the leg is off

When I soldered the new capacitor, l let my soldering iron sit for an extra couple of seconds to make sure the solder properly melted and attached, first try I just held it for a more regular length and the solder didn't get hot enough to take.

Power Macintosh 6500 recap.png Please sanity check before using!

Thanks for the guide! That’s a lot of caps for a small board

Yes I was a bit surprised! It's not Power Mac 7100 level but certainly more than I thought 😄 took me all morning what with the stubborn ones next to the edge connector
