A pair of traces have been repaired, but still having the issue.
Are the Bourne filters required in the boot process ? apparently i have no reset and filters are close to the battery and also close to the reste switch. | Posted by: bibilit on 2023-06-24 10:33:51 Answer for myself, never look only at the damaged area, look around also.
After testing only the bombed area, i started poking around, and one trace was looking bad… and was broken, near the CPU !
A quick patch and the checkerboard was gone and i got a chime and flashing floppy.
Was even able to boot from a floppy, still have and issue with the SCSI, but far better.
The SE is a beast.
The metal brace is gone for good, replaced with another though. | Posted by: bibilit on 2023-06-25 09:06:15 Another broken trace under the SCSI chip and the bourne filter !
A quick patch and the SE is fixed. | Posted by: zigzagjoe on 2023-06-25 10:17:40 Nice troubleshooting! That brace is gnarly, it must have been ugly in that machine beforehand. | Posted by: bibilit on 2023-06-25 11:44:03 Thanks.
Yes, was crumbling apart, had a worse SE/30 board to remove the part from. | Posted by: pezter22 on 2023-06-25 16:28:49 Nice work! | | 1 |
