Retail Spots for Mac Plus Items?
Posted by: Admiral Ackbar on 2023-06-12 07:28:20
Hey all. Looking for any place that sells (putty/beige) Mac Plus keyboards or mice or 4mb upgrades, I acquired one without any input. Would rather not do eBay. Actually if the keyboard is from a 512/128 that would be better since there is no number pad and would be more compact on the desk. I do have a Floppy Emu coming from BigMessoWires, so I think I am in a good place concerning storage..
All ideas/pointers appreciated, thanks!

Not aware of any retailer per se - OtherWorldComputing used to sell at least SIMMs that would work in a Mac Plus but don’t appear to have any right now.

Not sure why you are opposed to eBay but you don’t have to buy from a random stranger on there - a couple reputable eBay ”stores” sell RAM in particular. I’ve had good luck with MemoryMasters: https://www.ebay.com/str/memorymast...uid=IOlrchesSyG&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Right here on the forum would be my go-to.

eBay seems to be full of money gougers/opportunists when it comes to retro items, so I'm hoping I can find someone "in the family" as my first choice. I'm open to using eBay as a secondary alternative.

Could also look here. Bought a few items from Herb last year. Seemed fairly reasonable on pricing.

Thanks for the reminder - I had sent an email last month (5/2) looking for an item and had not heard back yet, I wanted to follow back up, but I wanted to give it enough time not to seem needy (or too eager) ;-)

Thank you for posting this, Herb is local to me! Hopefully he allows for pick-ups.

I suggest you read his contact guide - he's picky about how you contact him. Not that it did me any good. Ignored me too, so I bought elsewhere.

Reminds me of a certain Seinfeld soup merchant ;-)

Herb is actually a good guy. I met him at VCF one year.

You may want to look into Apple Rescue of Denver. They sometimes have small parts.

Thanks Scott. I don't need anything at the moment (well I mean I always need SOMETHING but you know lol) but when I do will let folks know how it goes with Herb and if he allows for pick ups.
