Looking for a PCI Ethernet card for my Clone
Posted by: BetaC on 2023-05-08 12:51:23
As the title says, I'm looking to figure out what kind of cards I can use to finally get ethernet going on my SuperMac I'm effectively restrained to using 8.1 for now as I am unable to find more 5v EDO, which is making googling this exceptionally hard.

How much memory do you have? There are some available on eBay right now. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...7.m570.l1313&_nkw=powermac+memory+5v&_sacat=0

RTL8139 should work with 8.1: http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/rea...clrtl8101lrtl8139cl-rtl8139clrtl8139dlrtl8100

Yeah, I'm just iffy on spending upwards of $50 for RAM right now without being able to test it out.

I'll look for one sometime soon. If only Mac OS worked with the multiple DOS/Win98 cards I have from 3com.

Sadly that is what RAM of those sizes costs now. I wouldn't say it would be worth buying anything smaller than a 32MB SIMM if possible.

If that's your concern I have some I always test before I ship.

I might be interested sometime soon, thanks. And as for my current RAM, I have the built in 16, plus 32 extra. It is less ram than my 7100 has, ironically. I just happened to have 128MB for that lying about, and 32 for my SE/30.
