Any idea what the cause is or if it’s fixable? Is it related to needing to replace the caps? | Posted by: 3lectr1cPPC on 2023-05-07 16:37:31 Possibly is, not sure. That’s some form of pixel rot I’d wager, could be caused by a variety of things. Environment, time, corrosion, etc. now I wouldn’t be surprised if cap goo is getting into that area and causing problems. There are 3 leaky caps right above where that anomaly has appeared. Never use a laptop screen that needs to be recapped like this before you’ve gotten it recapped. Running power through a board with cap juice on it will cause corrosion from the cap juice to accelerate. Get that board recapped ASAP. The pixel rot may or may not be related but you don’t want to risk it getting worse. | | 1 |
