| Salvaged chips reusable? |
Posted by: pizzigri on 2023-04-16 02:32:14 Hello,
I apologize if this has been already asked, however I salvaged some chips from a bombed 6200 and I wanted to know if they could be used to repair other Macs and which. One should be an EGRET chip, the other a sound chip and the last is an oscillator. The small one just floated off when I lifted the EGRET. |

Posted by: olePigeon on 2023-04-16 21:25:16 SWIM chips are always in demand if you can manage to salvage that. So are ADB filters. |
Posted by: pizzigri on 2023-04-16 23:40:38 Uh I don’t think there’s a SWIM chip on the 6200, must be integrated
in one of the large ASICs, while what do ADB filters look like? |
Posted by: olePigeon on 2023-04-17 10:06:16 Not sure about on a 6200. I know on a IIci and IIgs it's a black box about the size of a sugar cube near the ADB ports. Might have 2 visible wires running along the top. |
