Another Performa 6360 question

This may be the most frustrating computer ever. Apparently it was a demo mode, and even has all the store demo software on it. Actually pretty cool. But I digress...

I decided to try to modify the IDE drive. Its the only thing on this stupid machine that works. I wanted to see if it would allow me to update from 7.5.3 (that
s what it has) to 7.55 or 7.6.1. Of course not. Using my floppy emu, when I get to the part where you choose a disk, I am unable and it tells me that "Installer Disk did not recognize this Macintosh. Please use the disks that came with the computer.' Great. Of course I don't have the disks that came with the computer. Anyone know how to get around this annoying thing? Is it a copyright issue and I have to lock the disks that are on my floppy emu? I have no idea. Please let me know if you do.

Yes but the computer won't read from my bluescsi. Long story. No idea what's wrong with this thing. Everything I try fails. The only thing that seems to work is my Floppy Emu but I can't install from the floppies. Anyone know another work around?

Is your CD-ROM dead?

Yes. Scsi probe detects it but I can’t get it to open.

Have you tried ejecting it with a paperclip?

Have you tried ejecting it with a paperclip?
Yes. That didn’t work. It’s the weirdest thing. I wonder if something broke off on the inside?

Did you remove the drive? Could it have died in some weird way that is fouling the SCSI bus?

Yes I thought of that too. I did remove the cd drive. Nothing changed. This thing is cursed.

If you remove the CD-ROM you need to put a terminator on its cable.
