| Pics/Vids of CRTs - refresh rate |
Posted by: smrieck511 on 2023-03-30 10:23:50 Trivial question but does anybody have any tips on how to take pictures or videos of compact macs without the refresh rate issues on the screen? |
Posted by: cheesestraws on 2023-03-30 10:29:56 adjusting the exposure time on the camera is your friend here. |
Posted by: stepleton on 2023-03-30 10:47:00 Videos are much harder than still images. Some rather fancy cameras allow you to choose a specific frequency for sampling frames; for others you may have to use a long exposure time and cross your fingers. |

Posted by: joshc on 2023-03-30 10:53:58 If you use an iPhone, I can recommend ProCam for this. |
Posted by: treellama on 2023-03-30 11:09:06 You can also do it with the built in camera app on the iPhone. Make sure the "Live" icon is enabled. Then later when browing the photo, select "Live" in the upper left corner and then "Long Exposure" |
Posted by: Skate323k137 on 2023-03-30 12:21:11 These are my rules of thumb: For photos of CRTs, turning down the brightness and taking the shot at a side angle can help bring out the detail. Video wise, make sure your camera won't keep refocusing when the brightness of the screen changes during use. |
