Posted by: TonimusMaximus on 2023-03-21 10:01:24Greetings everyone! I just found this forum and I'm digging around. I've had no luck finding anything on this specific question, though.
I've got a new to me PowerMac 6100/60 in the mail. I was looking at the 7100/8100 video cards and they look compatible. Without the case top on, they should physically fit. Before I shell out for one of those video cards, then make a 90 degree adapter, does anyone know if they actually work in the 6100? Thanks in advance!

The AV cards do, the HPV cards... are hit and miss. The HPV cards just don't work in some 6100s, not sure why, but also, the VRAM SIMMs can clash with the hard disk.
AV works fine. Rather than making an adapter you can just use a Sonnet G3 upgrade. They act as the 90° bracket.
I have a Sonnet and an AV card in my 6100/66.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Sonnet, just not looking to fork out that kind of cash at this point.
Posted by: macuserman on 2023-03-21 11:18:20There was a project on here at one point to replicate the 90degree adapter. I’m not sure what happened to it I think it was successful if I recall. I’ve been testing a bunch of pds cards and I’ve discovered either I have some bad ones or they are starting to need recapping because out of my large stash only 2 cards were 100% functional with no artifacts or lines.
Posted by: TonimusMaximus on 2023-03-21 11:30:09@macuserman, if you're willing to part with one that's acting up, I'd recap it. Heck, I'd recap a few and send them back to you in trade.

Hello everyone :) Introduction Long story short, I got a 8100 a while back, which had some sort of PSU fault which resulted in a dead motherboard (burned area of 4 cm^2 + tons of smoke :O ). Salvaged some parts of it, included one HPV card (820-0509-A). I want to use this card into my...

Posted by: TonimusMaximus on 2023-03-21 17:11:44FYI, I'm going to be ordering 10 riser PCBs. Minimum order is 5, and it's only $5 more to get 5 more cards.
