| Macintosh Portable HD Pinout - n00b question |
Posted by: BadGoldEagle on 2016-06-16 05:25:24 Hi
I have a 34pin to 50pin scsi adapter from Michael McMaster. I'm also going to pick up a Classic II later this afternoon, and I'd like to test the Portable HD on the CII.
I know I'm stupid but where is pin 1 on a 50 pin scsi cable? Where is it on the 34 pin cable?
There are 2 possibilities each, and I dont want to fry anything...
There is a notch on both cables (no big deal), is pin 1 on the opposite row? I think not, can someone confirm?
There is an arrow on the 34 pin connector, It's probably indicating pin 1, can someone confirm this as well?
Sorry if that's an obvious question...
Pictures would be more than welcome!

All SCSI ribbon headers "should" be the same, right? That is, that pin 1 is located at the bottom left corner of the header when the notch is facing down.

But what about the portable's 34-pin header?
