I‘m new here, I bumped in something very curious, it should be a 128k, but it has many strange things that I can’t really explain, like the extra empty hole in the back, what was for? It has an internal HDD, but looks like it still boot from the floppy, probably a mod from a third party company? Unfortunately the serial number in the front is missing or has been removed. The actual owner doesn’t know much, so also there no help.
Did anybody already see such a mod?
| Posted by: desertrout on 2023-03-11 16:22:21 Only way to know for sure is to open it up and look | Posted by: Neon on 2023-03-12 04:24:47 Thanks for the advice then I hope that the owner will let me have peek inside before buying it…I‘m very new about vintage Macintosh, but already loving them, so cool… | Posted by: desertrout on 2023-03-12 09:09:20 Welcome to the addiction! 😄
Personally, if the machine is working, I see no reason to fuss with having the owner open it up... I mean, is anything that could be in there potentially be a deal-breaker? | Posted by: Neon on 2023-03-12 09:38:13 True not really, for sure it’s a 128k or a 512k, I guess now it’s only a metter of price..thanks again 👍 | Posted by: Neon on 2023-03-12 11:07:36 Well I t’s booting, no mouse and the keyboard is not giving any input at least this is what he said, but I guess also here the only way it’s to connect another one and see what it’s (keyboard, cable, hope not the logic board).. | | 1 |
