| VideoStreamer Data Save Interface |
Posted by: Jockelill on 2023-02-18 05:55:35 Hi!
I found this device on a local auction. It connects to the scsi-port and has what looks like a VGA connector on the side.
The box is marked:
VideoStreamer Data Save Interface.
Does anyone have any information on this device? I assume it output the screen, but do I need some drivers for it or? And what was it used for?

Posted by: Jockelill on 2023-02-18 12:31:19 Ah, that’s actually a good theory! By closer inspection, I think the vga connector is added later, the soldering look non original, it’s mounted slightly skew and there seems to be an extra cut out in the case. |
Posted by: cheesestraws on 2023-02-18 12:50:16 I just found a couple of mentions of it on German forums which say that is what it is: how much you trust that is up to you, but given the name of the thing (bear in mind the synchronic use of "streamer" meaning "tape drive with a buffer", rather than something necessarily attached to video), I'm inclined to think it's probably that. |
Posted by: Jockelill on 2023-02-19 02:04:58 Interesting! Do you have any link to those german forums 🙂? Would be nice to learn how it works. The whole thing does look very german 😀. You didn't find any reference to which software is necessary for it? |
Posted by: cheesestraws on 2023-02-19 03:27:38 There's a link to a c't article about it here, which I don't have access to: https://forum.planet3dnow.de/index.php?threads/datenspeicherung-auf-vhs-kassetten.322922/ |
