| ZuluSCSI Mini R/W speed - is this normal? | |
| Posted by: 1200XL M.U.L.E. on 2023-02-16 21:23:30 I found a neat little benchmark program called TimeDrive. TimeDrive - Macintosh GardenA disk benchmarking tool. Despite the authors' insistence that this is "yet another disk timer", I'm not aware of many other apps like this that will report a speed in real units (e.g. KB/sec) rather than just comparing to a baseline.
Here is what the program said about my ZuluSCSI Mini.  (apologies again for my super blue photos - CRT screens are hard to photograph) Is that a normal speed? Am I ahead of the curve? Am I behind? Are there settings I should tweak in the zuluscsi.ini file to better my performance here? | |

Without knowing which Macintosh machine and CPU you're using, there isn't enough information here to be able to answer definitively, but if it's a 68000-based compact Mac (which the screenshot seems to suggest it may be) then yes, those numbers are quite good, when compared to the system CPU bus speed. | |
