System 7 Utility to Sanitize File Names for Uploading?
Posted by: olePigeon on 2023-02-07 20:46:33Does anyone know of an easy drag & drop utility for System 7 that can sanitize file names? Looking for something that can remove special characters and replace spaces with underscores. I know Fetch does this automatically when you upload a file, but looking for a utility that can do that on its own.

Drop•Rename is a fast, simple, and safe file renaming tool. It is best suited for batch rename operations.

Some example scripts are available.

It also occurred to me that I could just do it on a modern computer as well since the file has already been BinHexed. Might as well do it in AppleScript. I've found that scripts are surprisingly compatible between modern and vintage Macs, so long as you restrict it to the older vocabulary set.
