Mac G4 Cube 533 Mhz upgrade
Posted by: hyperneogeo on 2023-02-06 18:36:54
So I read that taking a sawtooth/DA 533 mhz board is a cheap and pretty good upgrade for the cube. I did do this, it did say 533 on the chip, however the computer boots and reads it as 400 mhz. I did do a few PRAM resets and upgraded the cube to the latest firmware. Is there anything I'm missing? I feel like I'm missing something stupid lol.

Never mind, I'm an idiot, followed this: http://power-mac-g4.com/g4clockup.html and I'm getting a nice 550 mhz now.

I'm glad you got it going. Thanks for posting back with your results; most people don't bother and it makes others less willing to help out next time.
