I've though about using a macos 10.6 emulator and using a program called foomatic but dk if it'll work yet. | Posted by: Chopsticks on 2023-02-09 16:39:33 your best bet is probably to try using the CUPS driver, I haven't used myself since probably around OS X 10.6 era, but I had an old laser writer I used to use this way with no issues.
obviously that was many years ago and was a lifetime ago in terms on Mac OS X changes, however as far as I can see the CUPS driver still works on modern Macs.

one thing to be mindful though is that if you are using a usb to serial adaptor you probably need one that used a RS-422 connection..
