| New SE analog board install q's |
Posted by: croissantking on 2023-02-01 04:09:24 I've acquired a new old stock analog board for my SE/30, it looks genuinely brand new and unused.
Is it safe to go ahead and install it without any risk to damaging my CRT, e.g. if the adjustment pots are badly set? |
Posted by: LaPorta on 2023-02-01 05:28:13 At worst it won’t work. However, I will caution that the newest a NOS board can be is somewhere around 1997/98 when Apple stopped supporting its old machines. Thats still using 25 year old capacitors even if they have never been used. You’re probably ok, but I’d still recap it.
Also: what state is the PSU you are planning to use it with in? |

Also: what state is the PSU you are planning to use it with in? It's a Sony one that's been recapped with good quality components. |

Posted by: croissantking on 2023-02-01 13:59:39 It fired up and the picture was already well adjusted, just a few tweaks needed. Picture looks awesome, better than my previous AB. |
