I picked one up dirt cheap to play around with. I will need to make my own video adapter for the Mac. I understand the mac side well enough, I think. But I am wondering if anyone had pinned out the cable that originally came with it to the Datashow? Mine was missing this cable. I am sure I can figure it out once I open up the panel, but thought I might ask if fellow owners had already done this. | Posted by: Replayer74 on 2023-01-31 04:51:38 I cracked it open and the DB25 connector is a serial port. There are only 12 pins to the whole cable assembly, so it should be fairly simple to figure out. I thought it was going to be more complicated than that for some reason.
Two will be power (5V, 600mA), 2-4 for serial and the rest are probably going to be video. The serial most likely sends commands from the remote to the computer. I can probably figure that protocol out since I have no software with it.
I guess if nobody else has documented this, I will share with the group once I sort it out. | Posted by: oldappleguy on 2023-01-31 11:58:11 picture of adapter | | 1 |
