Classic ii analog recap a success… finAlly

Ordered a cap kit from console 5. Did my classic, worked well. So decided to get the classic ii done. On first power had a wavey screen with huge vertical lines. They eventually turned into the raster screen and got the smiley mac and she booted.

She worked great for 1/2 hour then heard small pop, and mouse was frozen. Then screen got a little funny. Shut down, turned on only fan came on, everything else dead. Tried different logic board, same. After about 15 minutes she turned on and chimed. But still acted funny and wouldnt boot all the way. She would restart all on its own etc.

So discharged crt, pulled apart, checked all caps for blown, or wrong way and all was good. No bad smells, or burns. So decided to relow everything i did plus all the power connections and yoke connector, flyback again as well.

Put back together and again got weird thick vertical lines but chime. Then went to normal screen and she booted all the way to desktop. Been playing games for last hour, restarted many times.. all seems good. Wonder if things just have to charge up and settle down sometimes?

The vertical lines after a recap would suggest the board still needs another clean. Glad it's working though! The Classic II is my nemesis. 2 x logic boards, 2 x analogue boards and still no working Mac here.

Ok, wasnt sure you could clean them. So an isopropyl bath? My nemesis is the powerbook 100 lol

We all need a nemesis - mine is the IBM PS/Note 425.
