I have a PowerBook 145B which for many years now is unable to boot and most of the time produces a loud noise:

The screen is recapped and the main battery removed since years.. |

Probably have a spare logic board if required. |

So yeah, check the AC adapter if it's an original, if not my next guess would be a short somewhere. |
Posted by: robin-fo on 2023-01-22 11:29:30 Ok thanks, I'll check the PSU. Up to now, I considered it as working because I used it sometimes for my PowerCD, but I know that the PowerCD is very tolerant concerning its input voltage... |
Posted by: Dogmander on 2023-06-16 12:49:26 Did you ever get any further? I’m trying to diagnose a nonfunctional 140 of my own and was wondering |
Posted by: robin-fo on 2023-06-16 12:51:02 I didn‘t investigate much further, but the PSU is probably not the issue |
Posted by: Dogmander on 2023-06-16 12:52:46 Okay, I see |
