I just grabbed another se/30. Pulled board, out in different chassis, works perfectly besides needing a clean and recap. No battery explosion thankfully. The other chassis powers up but screen stays black. Tried adjusting the brightness, nothing. It still boots, just screen stays black. Is this a bad crt or possibly just an analog needing recapping as well as PSU? I do have a spare analog I might try with the crt to rule out bad crt. |

Well, logic board is recapped.. cant believe how clean this one was. Even ue8 had zero corrosion on its legs.. |

If the screen is black even though the power supply unit is on and the cooling fan is spinning, there is a possibility that +4.7V or more power is not being supplied to the 5V terminal.
If you have a SONY CR-44 or AcBel power supply unit, you can adjust the voltage with the internal trimmer potentiometer. |
