System 7.1 File Server Error
Posted by: Byte Knight on 2022-12-11 18:11:08
In the quest to make my IIsi as speedy as possible, I've been migrating from System 7.5.5 to 7.1. The only thing I can't get working in 7.1 that works fine with 7.5.5 is copying files to my netatalk file server running on a Raspberry Pi. Copying files from the server works fine, but when I try to copy to it I get the message "There is not enough room on the disk "ApplePi" to copy "file" (an additional 1897.7 MB is needed)" even though the file is only a few K in size and there's over 19GB available. For whatever reason it thinks the file server is full. Anyone know a fix for this?

I wonder if some of your issues relate to limitations, as outlined here:

Possibly due to an older version of AppleShare. Try installing OT and using a newer AppleShare extension.

I think you're right - I can upload to my RaSCSI file server which only has 825 MB free (although it freezes at the end but hitting STOP still completes the transfer) but not to my other netatalk server which has 19 GB free.

Thanks for the suggestion but both Systems are running the same version of AppleTalk (v1.1) and OT (v1.3.1).

Weird. Can you set up a fileshare volume smaller than 2GBs? See if it works?
