| Strange Macintosh 512K HyperDrive... Without Hard Disk! |
Posted by: Jujul98 on 2016-05-31 08:29:16 Hi,
I've found this strange Macintosh 512K HyperDrive model.
There is no Hard Drive and no fan inside...
Is anyone know what is this? (Developer model?)

Posted by: Jujul98 on 2016-05-31 09:35:16 I think this 512K had never had hard drive because the logic and powerboard were not modified (like other Hyperdrive 512k).
But it's only an assumption 🙂
Did all the HyperDrive Macintosh 512K have a fan?

Mine doesn't have fan... I'm lost !

Posted by: techknight on 2016-05-31 13:51:55 it was removed long ago. my hyperdrive unit had the drive gutted out of it probably for data protection.Â

Or I have a "normal" Macintosh 512 with the back case of HyperDrive 512k 🙂

Posted by: BadGoldEagle on 2016-06-01 15:01:55 Yeah, unfortunately a lot of ebay sellers these days find cool stickers and stick them onto anything to sell the item for a greater price...
Is there a logo on the front bezel? Every dealer fitted Hyperdrive should have one.Â

Posted by: Jujul98 on 2016-06-02 00:15:24 No logo on the front bezel... I bought it with a lot of others Macintosh near Paris in an old factory...
The seller does not know what he was selling!
So I don't think he sticks "HyperDrive" stickers...
Another thing, When I turn on this Macintosh, it doesn't "boing" but it works perfectly.
The speaker works when the system is launched!
