Apple II on the Mac

Did Apple ever consider offering a 68k Mac running the Apple II OS? Could it be a dual boot system? It could have then run the huge amount of Apple II software available at the time.

Apple II emulation was available by 1985, in "II in a Mac"

It only runs properly on compact Macs.

Some people inside Apple evene made an Apple IIgs emulator for the Power Macintosh in software, but it never became an official product. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_IIGS#Gus

I miss emulation dot net. Great resource for emulators on Macintosh.
