| Can anyone explain the importance of glue on the Flyback Transformer? |
Posted by: 68kPlus on 2022-11-28 20:46:01 I hope someone can, because I do not understand why it's there and what it does. |

IIRC to avoid vibration / resonance Oh right okay. So if it's cracked what will happen? |
Posted by: bibilit on 2022-11-29 01:24:54 Not much, a lot of them are cracked and still working, but can be wrong... |
Posted by: techknight on 2022-12-01 06:57:17 It is only there to prevent mechanical resonance, because if the core is too loose, it can cause ringing that some people can hear. Also, the core gap is very critical to the operation of a flyback transformer, so the glue helps prevent the core from moving too much and causing the core gap to shift. |
