| What sound is my SE/30 making?? |
Posted by: Slammbone1986 on 2022-11-24 21:24:57 Had this baby a long long time and finally decided to recap the entire machine. Console sent me the goods and I recapped it without a hitch. Went to turn it on and that god awful noise you hear was coming out of what looks and sounds like the flyback. But I don’t know what I could have done has anyone had experience with this sound?? Oh and it was working perfectly fine before I recapped it. Any help to figure this out would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Posted by: Slammbone1986 on 2022-11-25 12:16:45 Yes I always do anytime I have one apart even if they aren’t cracked. They will all eventually turn bad. I think I’m just going to have to go over everything. Do y ok think it’s something to do with the analog board or the logic board? |
Posted by: joshc on 2022-11-25 12:44:32 Analog board I think. Definitely worth going over your work again especially if it was OK before the recap. |
Posted by: Slammbone1986 on 2022-11-25 13:52:53 Yeah so I forgot to mention. I took the Logic board and put it in a known good machine and the same thing happens. So it has to be on the logic board. Earlier I found a bad solder joint on one of the axial caps, on the video connector line, but of course it didn’t repair it. |

Posted by: Slammbone1986 on 2022-11-27 16:09:09 Had a couple of bad solder joints on the caps and one broken trace. Works like a dream. Thanks!! |
