Anyone interested in salvaged chips? (LC I)
Posted by: Addicted on 2022-10-26 12:00:25 I found an LC (LC I) that was a bad case of battery leakage and beyond repair. The leakage was confined to one half of the logic board, however. I did my best to remove some of the healthy-looking chips. Is anyone here is interested in them? Given their dubious history plus the thermal stress of my removing them from the board, these are a risk. I'd part with them for the cost of postage alone, in hopes that they are good and can help any other legacy Mac fan out there. I've benefitted a lot from this site and like to pay it back when possible. I have a DFAC, a CLUT, all four DRAMs, and an EGRET all looking good enough to mention. Photos attached. There are some less appealing parts, too: I have the ROMs, but HH and HM lost a few pins - right up to the packaging. LM and LL look fine. If you can use them anyway, let me know. The SWIM+ looks fine too, but it is large enough and surrounded by so many nearby parts, that I am less confident I can remove it without baking it. Let me know. The chassis looks OK on the outside (needs retr0brighting) but the EMI shield is rusted, especially at the IO bulkhead in the rear. Again, if anyone is interested, I can photo it. Postage only, too.
