Posted by: macman0512 on 2022-10-24 02:12:04 Hi guys,
I am the proud owner of a Lombard and a PDQ. Sadly, the PDQ had snapped hinges when I bought it(which they're famous for, so not entirely unexpected), but weirdly so did the Lombard. As I'm unable to find replacements, and I'd rather not destroy a working machine to fix another, I was wondering if there are any homemade fixes to repair the hinges, or maybe aftermarket replacements. |

I have the same issue on my Lombard. Decided to try a few layers of JBweld and see how it works. |

If it doesn't work I'll just buy some Pismo hinges and remove the wireless antennas I did that with one of my Lombards. It's a good solution for when you can't find Lombard hinges.
usedmac.com has Pismo hinges for $15 each side. |

usedmac.com has Pismo hinges for $15 each side. I'll first wait for the JB Weld to cure and see if that even works. Then get a replacement for the other side. |

View attachment 70932 View attachment 70933 Those posts aren't the parts that break though. It's the part connected to the display frame which slides across the posts which breaks. |

I wish I could find replacement hinges for my 14” PDQ… been 3 years now That's why we need to somehow manufacture upgrades. PCBWay does machining as well, but I haven't tried it out yet... |
