| Macintosh Portable Feet Remake |
Posted by: aplmak on 2016-05-23 09:03:50 Would be nice if someone out there could reproduce with a 3D printer some of these feet for the portable... These tend to crumble... I suspect it wouldn't be a hard job for a 3D printer... I don't have one...

|
Posted by: 360alaska on 2016-05-23 12:58:20 It would be pretty quick to make but flexible filament is pretty expensive...
|
Posted by: aplmak on 2016-05-23 13:16:46 I bet the regular plastic would work out just fine... You don't really have to bend them that much... so I am sure you could squeeze them in... π
All we have to do is give it a shot... π And see what happens... π

Posted by: Macdrone on 2016-05-23 17:35:10 I seriously was asking this in my head today the same exact thing. Β What was used for the Iici / Quadra feets was plenty flexible enough.

Posted by: techknight on 2016-05-24 14:05:33 yea if someone makes these, I need few myself!

Posted by: 360alaska on 2016-06-06 17:25:27 If you send me a sample I can replicate it π

Posted by: james_w on 2016-06-12 07:07:27 Oh great! I would buy these π

Posted by: 360alaska on 2016-07-01 22:04:14 Well,
I finally got the computer and the printers unpacked and here is my first attempt:

Pretty Nice!

Posted by: BadGoldEagle on 2016-07-03 07:55:56 hey 360!
I've seen the pics on your other 3D-printing thread. Damn those feet look good!
You just need to find the correct material/color now!
I'll have to order a batch from you once the prototyping phase is complete ! I destroyed two feet on my Portable trying to get it open...Β

Posted by: 360alaska on 2016-07-04 13:47:30 I have the right color it just costs double what normal PLA costs:

|
Posted by: BadGoldEagle on 2016-07-04 14:02:27 And how much would it cost? I am completely new to the 3D printing business...Β
|
Posted by: 360alaska on 2016-07-04 14:22:38 idk, how about 20 dollars for 8?
|
Posted by: aplmak on 2016-07-05 16:07:32 Hey I'm in to purchase a bunch.... π π Ask Happlain too!

Posted by: Johnnya101 on 2016-07-06 14:17:21 Hi guys,
I have the expensive flexible rubber filament if anyone is interested. I could do about $20 too, but I would need to design them or be sent the file from 360alaska if they are willing too (Not trying to compete, but I have the better filament for feet!)
|
Posted by: 360alaska on 2016-07-06 18:03:23 The stl is in the other thread, I think you should try to print some with your ninjaflex...
|
Posted by: Johnnya101 on 2016-07-09 13:47:24 I will if somebody wants them or something, as I have no need for them.
What were the originals made of? Im guessing rubber.
|
Posted by: techknight on 2016-07-09 18:02:53 I definitely need a handful of portable feets, the price is sorta up there though. But I bet thats because of the filament.Β
