| SE/30 ram removal technique - arrgh those clips! |
Posted by: bigmessowires on 2016-05-18 09:33:52 What's your technique for safely removing RAM from an SE/30? This one has bendable plastic tabs on each end of the socket, with a post on the end of the tab that sticks through the hole in the SIMM. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to remove this thing! The plastic tabs are stiff and hard to bend, and seem like they'll need to be bent quite far in order to get the post completely out of the hole. I'm afraid they'll break. Yet even when I bend one tab far enough to where it looks like the post is cleared, the SIMM won't budge. I think I need one hand to bend one tab, another hand to bend the other tab, and a third hand to grab the SIMM and pull it out. And screwdrivers in the first two hands to get enough leverage to bend the tabs. Arrgh!
