| Anyone have the 400K version of Dark Castle? |
Posted by: olePigeon on 2016-05-17 14:03:27 Was wondering if anyone has the the 400K version of Dark Castle.
Also, I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has a version of Dark Castle other than version 1.2.

Posted by: olePigeon on 2016-05-17 16:48:37 That's the copy from Macintosh Garden. I'm looking for versions older than that, including the 400K version.

Posted by: BadGoldEagle on 2016-05-23 04:36:11 Avast tells me there's a virus in the 400k images (Mac OS related). What should I do? (and don't tell me to uninstall Avast 🙂 )

Posted by: tanaquil on 2016-05-23 07:53:57 Good catch re: the virus - I just ran disinfectant on the 400K images (the ones from the "complete archive") and it appears that the Desktop files on both #1 and #2 are infected. Only the Desktop file, none of the other files on disk. The date of infection is quite old (2001), so it must have occurred before the author of the archive did his archive in 2012.
Anyone have advice for disinfecting a virus on a locked disk image? It should be easy enough to delete and rebuild the infected Desktop file, but the trick is not getting one's system infected in the process.

Posted by: blitter on 2016-05-27 12:41:29 If it's the Desktop file, then it sounds like it could be the WDEF virus. In that case, disinfect it under System 7-- IIRC System 7 and higher is immume to WDEF. 🙂
